Penguin Plunge

This past weekend, I had an incredible experience documenting the Penguin Plunge through photography, an opportunity I jumped at. The Plunge, which takes place at the Burlington waterfront, is a charity event put on to help raise money for the Vermont Special Olympics. I was lucky enough to get right out on the ice, and was able to capture some truly amazing images of the teams jumping into Lake Champlain’s frigid waters, all to raise money for the Vermont Special Olympics.

As I stood with my feet on the frozen ground, wrapped in a parka, I found myself deeply inspired that so many people had given up their Saturday afternoon, and come together to support such a worthy cause, especially those who choose to show their support by hurling their bodies into the freezing water, knowing their actions would give differently abled athletes an opportunity to compete. Well done everybody!
