Greener Photography

Photobucket

I just became a member of Greener Photography, a group of photographers dedicated to lowering the impact our craft has on the environment. Photography is a high tech art that uses much energy, and greener photography is committed to using materials and methods that lower our impact on the environment.

There are four basic principles or “core values” that make up our environmentally friendly, greener, philosophy. These are; preservation;, which entails conserving resources that are used to create photos, reduction;, using products that require the least amount of energy, Local production; using products that can be manufactured locally to reduce our carbon footprint, and lastly, green photography is cruelty free, meaning we do not use products that can harm animal or human ecosystems. I encourage all photographers or anyone thinking of hiring a photographer to check out this site. It is really informative. [Source: www.greenerphotography.com]
